School the World

In just short of a month, our team will be on the way to Guatemala! We are honored that for the third year in a row we are partnering with School The World (STW), supporting them in their efforts to provide children in the villages of Central America with access to quality education. This non-profit organization empowers communities through education by providing training to teachers, supplies to students and support to their parents. The unique thing about this organization is its commitment to self-sufficiency. School the World works with the community for 5 years, with a decreasing amount of responsibility as time progresses, ensuring that the community is hands-on in their own future.

The journey for the Envisage International Corporation (EIC) team begins on March 1st when the team will be in Guatemala for one-week building primary schools and playgrounds with Flywire and International Medical Group. Each team member has committed to fund-raising half the cost of their participation, with the companies contributing the other half plus the necessary fixed amount to cover the hard costs of school construction.

Stay updated on our 2020 EIC School the World journey through Facebook and our blog.

Business Traveler Health Insurance

In the global world, it is often the case that educational institutions send a group of employees overseas for specific assignments or extensive conferences for a temporary period. When visiting a foreign land for business, it is crucial for all travelers to stay protected regardless of the nature of the trip and is essential for business travelers and for institutions to fulfill their Duty of Care. Purchasing a group travel insurance policy for employees embarking on a business trip will not only provide protection and peace of mind, but it is also cost-effective.

ISI is now offering in partnership with Cigna Global a comprehensive group Business Travel program which includes comprehensive medical benefits covered at 100% and Crisis Assistance Plus.

Please contact Elaine del Rossi if you’re interested in learning more.

Insurance for OPT Students

It's OPT season again, and for many students, that may mean that they are no longer eligible for their school’s insurance plan. Some employers may have a waiting period before OPT students are eligible for health insurance, and still other employers may not provide coverage to students at all.

If you have OPT students looking for a comprehensive health insurance plan at an affordable rate, students can apply right online for our Student Health or Travel Medical plan and begin coverage as soon as the same day.

Tax Form 8843 Wizard

Tax season hits us all, and as you know international students inside the US are no exception. All international students and their dependents are required to complete Form 8843, even if they received no US-based income in 2019. To help your students with completing this form, our Form 8843 Wizard has been updated for the current year and is ready to get to work. Students can complete the Wizard questions as prompted and the form will populate their answers into the IRS Form 8843. Students only need to then sign and mail it in before the April 15th deadline. Wizard data is not stored which means it's free, simple and safe.

If your students could use help completing Form 8843 or other tax return items, feel free to refer them to our Wizard and comprehensive tax section this season.
