Envisage International Newsletter
Welcome to the 9th issue of the Envisage International Newsletter. It is hard to believe NAFSA has come
and gone and the Summer Solstice is less than a week away. It was great to see many of you in Houston at
NAFSA 2012 and we especially want to thank our current partners and those that we will be working with
in the near future. Thank you for stopping by, saying hello and taking a look at our new offerings.
In this issue, we will reflect on our NAFSA highlights (no, we do not mean the Brazil party), welcome
HTIR’s new partner on board, discuss what is happening in our insurance and loan businesses and finally,
update you on what upcoming conferences you can visit with us in person.
Happy Summer!

NAFSA Highlight
Highlights from NAFSA 2012!
It was a pleasure seeing everyone that stopped by our Envisage International booth and
International Student Insurance booth this year! We enjoyed seeing our current partners and
forging new relationships.
We will have more highlights from our online marketing, recruiting and lead generation
business in next months issue as well as from International Student Loan. In the meantime,
we would also like to thank the 30 plus educators from colleges and universities that we had
appointments with, as well as the scores of others that came by to see us at our Envisage
International booth.
From International Student Insurance, the main highlight from the 2012 conference was the
announcement of our partnership
with Sallie Mae Insurance Services to offer our premier international student health
insurance plan, the Student Secure. The Student Secure offers international students
comprehensive coverage during their time abroad, at an affordable rate, and Sallie Mae have
recognized this and included it in their product offering.
“Study abroad should be a time for students to gain the global educational experiences of a
lifetime,”
said Charlie Rocha, senior vice president, Sallie Mae. “Through this partnership, Sallie Mae
offers
students and their parents peace of mind to confidently pursue an international
program.”
For more information about this partnership, please see the NAFSA press release.

International Student Insurance
The Effects of PPACA on Your Student Coverage
The upcoming school year is just around the corner and many colleges and universities are currently
reviewing their international student health plan options. You may have noticed that most student group
health plans are experiencing increased renewal rates this year. While it’s common for renewal rates to
increase slightly each year based on market trends, medical inflation and loss history, most of the rate
increases groups are seeing this year are a direct impact of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care
Act, otherwise known as PPACA.
In March of this year, the final regulations for student group health insurance coverage were issued,
with an effective date of July 1st 2012. As we outlined in our April issue of the Envisage
Newsletter, the new regulations are bringing in a tiered structure of changes that all student
group plans will have to comply with over the next 3 years. The end result for most plans are increased
premiums.
As school groups look to get a handle on these changes and premium increases, many are turning to
individual insurance plans as an alternative. They are an excellent choice, offering both comprehensive
and affordable coverage for students and most individual plans are exempt from PPACA regulations.
The Student Secure
plan is one such option, offering coverage for international students studying in the USA, providing
coverage for hospitalization, doctors visits, mental health, maternity, pre-existing condition coverage
and much more. Special school landing pages can also be created to help students select the right plan
for them.
Please contact Annemarie Keller for more
information about these plan options and how they can save your students money, whilst still providing
solid coverage.

International Financial Aid
International Student Loan is excited to report a successful NAFSA conference. With our loan comparison tool launched this year, we've
received a lot of positive feedback - and at this year’s NAFSA conference we began working with select
partners who are interested in incorporating this financial aid tool on their site.
It couldn't come at a better time as schools and students evaluate the financial aid options for students
planning to study overseas during the upcoming semester. The loan comparison tool allows students to
simply enter their citizenship and school to be matched with US lenders. Students can apply for a loan
that covers the total cost of school including their tuition, transportation, books, living expenses,
and much more.
If you are interested in partnering with us, you can contact Jennifer Frankel directly for more
information about our loan tool and how we can work together to provide financial solutions to your
students.
