International Education News

International Education Week (November 18-22) is an opportunity to reflect on and celebrate this amazing industry that we share, where we get to be part of students’ lives during a transformative period. For 14 years, we’ve recognized this week by operating the Travel Video Contest, enabling hundreds of students every year to share their powerful stories with the world. We’re delighted to announce the Finalists today for this year’s contest. Meanwhile, we’ve been globetrotting to NAFSA Regionals and international education conferences around the world, and after countless flights, hotels, presentations, meetings and sessions, the end of the Fall travel season is finally in sight! We’re also proud to announce a new Central America scholarship program and introduce some new team members.

Travel Video Finalists Announced

The past few days have been full of excitement as the Travel Video Contest has been open for voting. Thousands of votes have been received on the 131 video entries and we now have a Viewer’s Choice winner who will continue into the Finalist round and receive $1,000! Congratulations to the Viewers' Choice Winner: Sofía Celine Noriega Ramos for her video Every Corner of the World Will be my Home!

Additionally, the Viewer’s Choice winner is not the only Finalist to be named- our team has determined the 12 Finalists who will enter into the last round of our contest with Sofía for the chance to win the $4,000 grand prize, $500 second-place prize, $250 third-place prize and $500 GoAbroad Choice prize. We received so many well-crafted and creative entries that narrowing down the list has been a hard road, however, the 2019 judges will now have the most difficult task of determining the final winners. Stay tuned as the contest winners will be officially announced on the last day of International Education Week: November 22nd.
